Welcome to a New Segment I Like to Call 'Quote of the Day'
For some unknown reason, my roommates gave me the power to be in charge of our apartment's chalkboard. What were they thinking? I have the freedom to be as pretentious as I want, and everyone in the apartment has to look at it. My dream!
I worked at a hipster hotel for a while, back when I still lived on the East Coast. They had a massive letter board sign, and the person who worked the 6:00 a.m. shift was in charge of putting up a new quote every day. It was genuinely my favorite part of the job.
All of this is to say that I have a new segment called Quote of the Day. This month is Women's History Month, so the quotes for the last few days of March will be from ladies. After that, it's a free-for-all. Some will be inspiring, some will be nonsensical, some will be dumb. Every day will bring a new adventure.
Today's quote is from Ruth Bader Ginsberg, or as I like to call her, the Notorious R.B.G. You may recognize my handwriting from such places as under the desk in a dorm room at Hollins University, on a scrap of paper I accidentally left in a library book, or on the cover of my novel, Burn Before Reading.
