Quote of the Day: 03.31.2017
You guys might not recognize this one because it's from...my mother. Sappy, I know. My mom's a great lady through and through. If I had a dollar for every time she said this to me as a youth, I wouldn't need to be shamelessly plugging my book.
Also! Here's an extra quote today in celebration of Transgender Day of Visibility. It comes from the woman who is credited with throwing the first brick at the Stonewall Riots, Sylvia Rivera. Contrary to what the 2015 Stonewall movie wants you to believe, the contemporary LGBT movement as we know it was started by trans women.
"Before I die, I will see our community given the respect we deserve. I’ll be damned if I’m going to my grave without having the respect this community deserves. I want to go to wherever I go with that in my soul and peacefully say I’ve finally overcome."
That's it for Women's History Month! Join us tomorrow when the quotes get more obscure and less thematic.
