Burn Before Reading: A Carly Allen Story

Quote of the Day: 06.22.17

I'd like to take this moment to personally apologize to anyone who has heard me try to sing along to this song with the windows down. I feel like I've said this same apology earlier for some other song, so I guess I should extend this apology to all songs that people hear me sing in the future. Except Jessie's Girl. I know I can crush Jessie's Girl.  This song, however, is not nearly as popular as Jessie's Girl. It's called Freedom and it's from a lesser known musical called The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown written by Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk. Anyone who's anyone on Broadway has sung one of Kerrigan and Lowdermilk's songs at some point in their career. Especially if they're a dude. If you like a dude actor on Broadway, I'm willing to bet my left arm you can find a video on YouTube of him singing Run Away With Me. Coincidentally, that song is also from the same musical as Freedom.

The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown is about Samantha Brown (shocker) and the beginning of the rest of her life. She's sat paralyzed in the driver's seat trying to figure out what to do with her life. The song itself is her and her best friend, Kelly, on a road trip. Her best friend's a little more carefree than her and is trying to get Samantha to loosen up. And, just like everything else on this blog, it all comes back to Supergirl.
