Burn Before Reading: A Carly Allen Story

Quote of the Day: 07.22.17

Have I ever mentioned how much I love malls? I know that malls and mall culture is a total 90s thing and I'm sure somebody somewhere is writing about how millennials are killing the mall industry, but this millennial is not contributing to that murder.

One time, I went to this mall a little outside the city limits of Pittsburgh and there was a man there walking his pet alligator on a leash. Only like two stores were open, but alligator man was not concerned at all. Neither was I because I love malls in all of their different states of functionality.

Malls were the shit. Like that was were you went after school if you were cool. The Cinnabons and the Wetzel's Pretzels wafting through the air. Clothes you couldn't afford. Love is in the air in malls. Every great teen movie has the mall montage and it's my favorite scene every time.

I'm soliloquizing about malls because I am writing this from a mall. Spoiler guys, sometimes I write the Quote of the Day the day before. I know. I'm a terrible person, but also a prepared person who knows that she'll forget until late in the day otherwise. I'm at a mall though because Los Angeles is the worst and finding places with parking to hang out before a job interview is the bane of my existence.

Buried that job interview lead, didn't I? Fingers crossed it goes my way.

Quote today's from Holes. By this point, you should know that I love Sam and Kate's love story. Just look at this lovely man.

No love story will ever be as beautiful as this one and it's not even the central plot. It's a side plot in a juvenile kids book. Kissin' Kate Barlow has more character depth than the majority of female characters to appear in movies in recent years. That's not even an exaggeration.
