Burn Before Reading: A Carly Allen Story

Quote of the Day: 08.09.17

Shoutout to Pittsburghhhhhhhhhh. Stephen Chbosky's The Perks of Being a Wallflower takes place in Pittsburgh and this specific part is referring to driving through the Fort Pitt Tunnel and seeing all of Pittsburgh right out there in front of you. It's truly a spectacular view when you do come through the tunnel. Definitely at night. So maybe Stephen knew what he was talking about. (Just kidding. He definitely knows what he's talking about. This book's great.)

However, books rarely capture life perfectly because I can count on two fingers the number of times I've driven through that tunnel without traffic. It's not quite the same effect to be stuck in stop and start traffic and slowly creep out of the tunnel. Nah, you gotta blast through and you gotta have the best song. In the movie version, I think it's a song by The Smiths. I could be wrong. However, Heaven Is a Place On Earth is my personal recommendation. And, if I ever upgrade to the paying version of this site, I'll upload a video of driving through the tunnel I set to that song, but since y'all haven't made me a bestseller yet, you'll never see it. (I'll reconsider if you buy the book.)

(JK, it's actually Heroes by David Bowie. Do I know anything about music? If anyone is bored and wants to watch that scene, here ya go. Some view, huh?)
