Quote of the Day: 08.30.17 Day One of Tooting My Own Horn
I know what you're thinking. You thought you were free from all this Springsteen nonsense for at least a day. NOPE. Watch me laugh all the way to the bank. (There is no bank. And I am not laughing.)
Anyway, this quote comes from an untitled novel written by me. What? Who? Me? Yes, me. I've gotten a bunch of new readers this past week. (Hi, hello, can I get you guys anything? A snack? Some condoms?) (Do y'all like Mean Girls jokes? We've got so much to learn about each other.) So, with all the new people reading these words, I thought I should probably feature some quotes from things I've written.
I don't know if you guys caught on, but I'd really like to actually make a career out of writing. Sincerity? On this blog? WHAT IS HAPPENING?! Am I actually putting out meaningful content instead of my 2 A.M. rambling thoughts on Glee? How the mighty have fallen.
The novel I wrote, Burn Before Reading, is the first in a trilogy. I'm not trying to jump on the dystopian YA trilogy band wagon because there is nothing dystopian about my book. I wouldn't even know where to start in writing a dystopian book. Like I don't have a thinly veiled social commentary dystopian book about characters with a keyboard slam for a name in my bones. No, no. My bones are literally made of romantic comedy tropes that are tired and worn out, but I will never let those tropes die. I'll take Barging in on a Wedding for $1,000, Alex.
Was that a spoiler? I don't know, you tell me. This quote is from the third book in the trilogy which is officially finished.
If you're asking me about the status of the second book, I can't hear you.
So, to all you new readers; hello. Welcome. Sit back, relax, and stay a while. It doesn't get better than this. It really doesn't.
